Localization - Effect of Diageo Corporate Social Responsibility
Diageo was formed in 1997. It has become the world’s leading premium drinks business and employs 20,000 people around the world. Since its enactment, Diageo has been considering itself as a "Corporate Citizen". It recognized that an enterprise is a very critical element to the whole society, therefore believes that an enterprise possessing, consuming and creating resources is the biggest undertaker of environmental and social responsibilities. We could learn from cases of Diageo and its Taiwan Branch, from the angle of branch office, a branch office of a multi-national enterprise should not merely comply with instruction of its mother company and engage in limited and might be inappropriate corporate social responsibility, instead, it shall adequately consider different social environments and problems in different places, fit in with local development demand, and consider the best suitable method to help local society and contribute its efforts.
